1. What has it meant to you to call Jesus the Word of God?
2. How do you feel about the idea of absolute truth? Can you sympathize with those who are hesitant about the idea? How does the idea of Jesus being the Word change things?
3. When has a word spoken to you profoundly transformed you?
4. Which meaning of katalambano do you prefer, overcome or understand? Which sense of the word do you find to be a struggle for yourself?
5. What part of the Christmas story do you most identify with? What part of the incarnation of Jesus do you feel speaks to you?
6. If Jesus came that we might know God, how then would you describe God?
7. What would it look like for you receive the gift of the One who comes? What might you need to let go of? What parts of you might need to open up to be ready to receive?
8. What would it look like for you to share the gift of the One who comes? How might we share words, light, and presence with those we come across?
