Read MoreWhether you have never been much into religion, are just curious about the church, or are looking for a place to connect or call home, walking through those church doors can be a hard thing to do.
Here are some important details for you to make your visit with us a breeze.
First things first: our dress code is casual. Actually, it is more like come as you are. Plaid shirt and skinny jeans, blouse and skirt with an infinity scarf, 3-piece suit, hoodie with cargo shorts, button-down with chinos, T-shirt & jeans, all are welcome here. We’re not about appearances, we’re about the heart.
We sing songs together. Not something you usually do on a regular basis unless you go to concerts or musicals. It’s pretty easy: we project the lyrics for you and our music style is mainly contemporary, with a few of the classics throughout. It’s worship and it allows us an opportunity to come together with one voice before God.
If you have children you may wonder what the protocol is: we’ve got you covered. We have both Adult Sunday school and Sunday Clubs for children ages 2 through to youth. And even better, come a little early and grab breakfast in the community hall! During the Sunday Worship Service we offer children’s nursery (2 years old and under) and for ages 2-6 years we have His Way Children’s Church for kids. An announcement during the worship service inviting children to His Way will be projected behind the stage.
We will take an offering during the Worship Service but there is no pressure. It is for those of us committed to the ministries here at GBC so if you’re visiting, consider yourself a guest and feel free to let the collection bag pass you by.
Challenged with hearing? Just ask an usher for a hearing unit and they’ll set you up.
And if you have any questions, our ushers would be happy to help you out. They are the people at the doors handing out bulletins.
